Day 19 - Church, Traffic & Monreal

Sunday, June 2, 2013
We attended church in Winterthur, Switzerland.  Several people volunteered to translate for us in the various meetings.  It was a small chapel and very friendly.

Then we packed up, gave our B&B hostess, Tamara, a Book of Mormon to remember us, and hit the road for a 5-hour drive back to Germany.

We passed through a few beautiful, quaint Swiss villages before stopping to take a photo of one, Diessenhofen.

About halfway home we hit a major traffic jam on the autobahn.  It was stop-and-go for 2 hours until we passed a construction site.  Our engine was steaming at one point climbing a hill, so we pulled off at the first chance and let it cool for 10 minutes.  That was worse than LA traffic and it was out in the countryside with no exits.

We took a detour to see the small town and castle ruins of Monreal.  Ruth has an ancestral line from there, by the last name of Monreal.  The village is beautiful.
