Day 11 - Back to Germany

We drove from Bruges, Belgium to Spangdahlem, Germany today.  Before we left, we had another big continental breakfast and visit with our hostess, Nicole.  The house that we stayed in was the only house in Bruges that was bombed in WWII, because the lock keeper (for the canal locks) lived there and the canals were the only thing in the city with possible military use.

We took a detour through downtown Brussels just to view the city from the car.  We saw lots of cobblestone streets and magnificant old buildings, but it looks much more modern and less historically interesting than Bruges.  We didn't see the Mannequin Piss (sp?) statue, the statue of the urinating boy for which Brussels is famous.

We were glad to get back to Nathan & Jenna's home and see Noah, Naomi, and Rebecca.  We enjoyed a great "raclette" meal together, but didn't take any photos today.  So here are a few random shots:
